This summer, Luton Libraries is partnering with Frasers Plus Luton to bring reading to life with a free Summer Reading Garden in Central Square.
Designed as a welcoming and relaxing space for families, the Summer Reading Garden is the perfect place to discover new reads, enjoy stories together and take part in free activities throughout the school holidays.
Visitors can browse a selection of books provided by Luton Libraries, relax in the garden and find out more about the Summer Reading Challenge from The Reading Agency. The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading over the summer and helps build confidence, imagination and a lifelong love of books. Families can sign up for the Challenge at any Luton Libraries branch.
The Summer Reading Garden will be open daily from Tuesday 28 July to Friday 28 August, from 11am to 5pm, with a programme of free family activities taking place on selected dates.
Settle in for a magical storytelling adventure with professional storyteller Mary, who will bring a range of children's stories to life throughout the summer.
From Julia Donaldson and Roald Dahl to David Walliams, there will be something for every young book lover. Expect favourites including The Gruffalo, We're Going on a Bear Hunt and The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
Storytelling session dates:
Meet exciting comic book characters, join creative colouring activities and enjoy a fun-filled day for comic and superhero fans of all ages.

There will also be free family activities including bookmark decorating and face painting. Shoppers who spend £30 or more in The Mall can collect a free back-to-school gift while stocks last.
