Inspiring workshop invites children on a journey of creativity, storytelling and cultural pride. Rooted in Ghanaian and African heritage but celebrating all cultures, the session kicks off with vibrant stories from the afrolectic series. Then, the magic continues as children imagine, create and share their own stories – building confidence, discovering their voices and realising that their stories matter. Every child leaves not just as a reader but as a storyteller ready to shine.
The event will held in the Conference Rooms, 3rd Floor, Central Library
Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the performance. Accompanying adults do not require a ticket.
Location: Luton Central Library, Children's Library

Let your child’s imagination take flight in this creative coding workshop! In this session, children will plan and animate their own space-themed story using Scratch, a fun and beginner-friendly coding platform.
They’ll learn how to:
• Plan and storyboard a simple short animated story.• Use Scratch to code characters, dialogue, and scenes.• Explore basic programming concepts in a fun, hands-on way
Perfect for young storytellers and curious coders alike!
Children will explore the world of rhyming words, building their confidence with phonics and guiding them on their journey to becoming phonics pros and future poets!
Children explore the winter woodland, learning the difference between fact and opinion. Can they use their newfound knowledge to stop any arguments forming between some very opinionated animals?
The way a child holds their pencil can impact the speed at which they can write. Children take a day out to the zoo to see all the cheeky animals. These animals guide the children through their perfect letter formation.
Children will be guided through four simple stages to help them read and answer worded maths problems, building their confidence to become a fearless mathematician of the future
