The Central Library will be closed from Monday 25th March for three weeks.

An exciting redevelopment and refurbishment is taking place at The Central Library. The major works will begin from Monday 25th March for three weeks.

We will be keeping the library open for as long as possible. If you visit the library between now and then you may find there will be restricted access to some areas and books as we prepare.

From the 25th March the closure will include the Children’s Library moving to the first floor to create an integrated space for families, plus a major investment of redecoration, new carpets, furniture and defined spaces for different customer needs.

Please note:

  • Return times for books borrowed in March have been extended.
  • Library sessions including Story Time, Real Play, Colour Me Calm and Board Game Club will be cancelled during this time. But don’t worry, our other libraries are still open offering a host of activities you can get involved in.
  • Public PCs are available at Stopsley, Leagrave, Marsh Farm and Lewsey Libraries.
  • The e-library at www.lutonlibraries.co.uk is always open.
